The New York City Department of Environmental Control is currently enforcing a program that mandates the installation of Backflow Prevention Devices in a variety of property types, including large residential dwellings with treated water boilers and premises with multiple water service lines and roof tanks.

The installation of the backflow device eliminates the opportunity for water provided to and used to service the building from re-entering the City supply and possibly causing contamination.
